I’ve been a bit of a nomad most of my life , mainly due to serving 30 yrs in the Police, which has taken me to most parts of Derbyshire. Since retirement I’ve lived in Ironville, initially only intending to stay a couple of years, but the people here and your community spiritedness have grown on me and made me want to be a part of it. For the first time in my life I feel like I’m actually in a place I can call home.
I joined the Police to help people and communities, and make a difference, this is the same reason I became a Parish Councillor. I make no apologies for being extremely principled, with a strong belief in the rights and wrongs of things and will fight a cause to the bitter end if I believe it worth fighting for.
I am very approachable, so is ‘Alf’ my German Shepherd who is always strapped to my hip, if you see us wandering around the village stop and have a chat, neither of us bite!.
